2.1 Introduction to the System

20C1600K adopts 20 foot standard shipping containers, with AC and DC integrated, 100% pre-install and factory tested, which is convenient for transportation and onsite installation. The rated power of the system is 1,600kW and the electric quantity is 3,086kWh.

The interior of the container contains lithium iron phosphate battery system, battery management system, energy storage bidirectional conversion, energy management system, environmental control system, fire protection system and other subsystems.

Main features of energy storage products:

  • All-in-one and compact product for super-fast delivery;

  • TEU shipping with 1.6MW/3.086MWh system capacity;

  • DC modular design, and linearly expandable battery unit;

  • High-voltage PCS modular design for one-on-one string management;

  • Decoupling between battery strings, and high capacity utilization;

  • Advanced battery management system to provide perfect measurement and protection functions;

  • Fault classification processing corresponding to preset fault scenarios;

  • Automatic exit mechanism from a fault branch to ensure the stable operation of the whole system;

  • Plug-and-play at delivery plus low installation, operation and maintenance costs;

  • Rated voltage of 690V, which can meet different grid needs by means of external step-up and step-down transformer cabinets;

This energy storage system can be widely used in renewable energy power stations to stabilize fluctuations, absorb power, as well as assisting in peak shaving, frequency modulation, and voltage regulation at the power grid side, and peak shaving and valley filling at the industrial and commercial user side. It is also used in load fluctuation stabilization, photovoltaic + energy storage + charging pile integrated power stations and other scenarios.

Figure 2-1 Schematic diagram of energy storage system

As shown in Figure 2-1, the 20C1600K energy storage system integrates the lithium iron phosphate batteries and battery racks, battery management system (BMS),power conversion system(PCS), BESS controller, liquid cooling unit,air conditioner, fire detection and automatic fire extinguishing system, and other subsystems for protection. ( The equipment in the dotted gray box is provided by Paneco, and the transformer is provided by the client).

PCS supplies AC power to the load via an insulation transformer. The system can change the output power and set the charge and discharge time segments according to actual project requirements and corresponding operation strategies.

2.2 Working mode

The energy storage system has two operating modes: Constant AC power mode and Stop mode.

Description

Constant AC power

Running state: positive number is discharge, negative number is charging

In charging state, the system converts alternating current from the grid into chemical energy stored in the battery

In discharge state, the system converts chemical energy in the battery into electric energy and discharges it to the grid

Failure occurrence

When the system detects a fault signal, it switches to shutdown mode

Receive stop order

When the system receives stop instruction, it will switch to stop mode

Stop
